- Description
- The USDA, ARS, LSO intends to solicit for a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) imaging system for label-free monitoring of biomolecular interactions in real-time must include: • Compatibility to visualize the SPRi response from the whole biochip surface with up to several hundred interactions for monitoring in real-time • Multiplexing capability to analyze numerous types of bio-interactions without restriction or compromise • With biochip containing different immobilized molecules, potential interactions on those different molecules should be monitored in parallel. • Monitor and characterize interactions involving different types of biomolecules including: antibody/antigen, protein/protein, antibody/bacteria. • Compact and easy operation. For Optics: • Prism-coupled SPR imaging with Kretschmann configuration and fixed angle optics • Wavelength: 810 nm • Data capture rate should be minimum 16 images collected with averaged / 3 seconds • Baseline noise range: < 2 RU on 1 spot with a diameter of 500 µm For Fluidic system: • An external fluidic system is needed to inject raw samples such as bacteria into the fluidic system. • Open cell and low volume flow cell are needed. For Biochips: The biochips must be available with functionalization For Surface Chemistry: A library of functionalized biochips is needed for • SAM (self assembled mono-multi layers) surface chemistry • 3D surface chemistries based on carboxymethyldextran • Surface chemistry is needed to be adapted for different types of molecules such as DNA, peptides, proteins, biotinylated molecules, tagged molecules, polymers, oligosaccharide For Reagents: A range of ready-to-use solutions is needed for running buffers, regeneration solutions, blocking solutions and cleaning solutions For Software: • Data to present real-time kinetics, real-time biochip image and real-time difference image • User-friendly operation to control and monitor in real-time biosensing experiments • Real-time kinetics analysis is needed with kinetic curves and interaction images • Immediate report from each experiment • Data analysis to extract kinetic constants for the recorded kinetic curves. For Performances: • Sample type includes proteins, peptides, serum, DNA and bacteria • Sample injection volume should be variable from 50 to 2000uL • Sample spotting capability up to 400 spots • Detectable sample molecular weight from 250 DA • Sample detection limit meets 10 pg/mm² or higher • Analysis time per injection meets 10 minutes The system must include coupling to other techniques including: • Perform direct MALDI mass spectrometric measurements on the biochip without the need to elute the sample. • SPRi measurements to electrochemistry or fluorescence • Perform Raman experiments on biochip currently being used as other platform in our laboratory The government anticipates award of a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the specifications will be most advantageous to the Government. PAYMENT: Any award made under this solicitation is subject to 31 CFR Part 208 which requires all payments made by the government to be made by electronic funds transfer. Please note on your proposal if you will accept a government purchase (VISA) card. This solicitation incorporates the following FAR clauses, provisions and addendums: 52-212-1 Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Item; 52.212-3 Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items - annual representations and certifications are required. Offers shall include a statement as follows on their offer: the offeror verifies by submission of this offer that the representations and certifications currently posted electronically at https://www.sam.gov have been entered or updated in the last 12 months, are current, accurate, complete, and applicable to this solicitation (including the business size standard applicable to the NAICS code referenced for this solicitation), as of the date of this offer and are incorporated in this offer by reference, except for paragraphs ______________; 52.212-4 Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items; 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statues or Executive Orders-Commercial Items. In paragraph B of 52.212-5, the following apply: 52.219-28, 52.222-3, 52.222-19, 52.222-21, 52.222-26, 52.222-36, 52.225-3, 52.225-13, and 52.225-33. In the event the vendor will accept payment via the Government Purchase Card (VISA), the vendor shall annotate on its offer that it will accept the purchase card, and clause 52.232-33 will be superseded by clause 52.232-36. All sources wishing to provide a quotation must respond by 5:00 PM, August 18, 2014. Quotations should be addressed to USDA, ARS, LSO 950 College Station Rd, Athens, GA 30605. POC is Kelly Bero, Purchasing Agent, 706/546-3025. Faxed or emailed responses are acceptable. All responses will be evaluated to determine the equipment's capability to meet the above requirements.
