- Asbestos Removal and Building Demolition, Crab Orchard NWR, Marion, Illinois, Williamson County. Work consists of, but is not limited to, furnishing all labor, supervision, tools, equipment, materials, and transportation necessary for the removal of all asbestos containing material from up to 8 buildings located at Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge. The contractor will be responsible for the removal and disposal of Type 2 asbestos: galvasbestos roofing and siding, transite shingles, siding, and paint booth, floor tile, and some Type 1 asbestos: Pipe insulation, Boiler Brick and other material that contain PACM. The contractor will be responsible to remove and dispose miscellaneous material from one building that is partially collapsed, all universal waste (fluorescent light bulbs, pcb ballast, and mercury switches, oils, etc.), and all overhead garage doors in 4 buildings. ESTIMATED MAGNITUDE: The estimated magnitude of this requirement in terms of physical characteristics and estimated price range is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. A firm-fixed price contract is contemplated. SOCIOECONOMIC PROGRAMS: This procurement is issued as a set-aside exclusively for small business concerns. For information purposes, the North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) is 562910, Remediation Services with a size standard of $19.0 million. The solicitation package will be available at www.fbo.gov and www.FedConnect.net on or about August 19, 2014, with a Bid Opening occurring on or about September 18, 2014. The solicitation package will include the following: An itemized Bid Schedule, Scope of Work, Drawings, and Prevailing Wage Determination and Bid Bond Form.
