Description
THIS SOLICITATION WILL BE RE-OPENED THE NEW DUE DATES FOR QUOTES IS 8 AUGUST 2014. Questions and Answers: 1. Are the door sizes correct? Typical Hollow Metal Doors in the Sates are 3'0 x 6'8 nominal.... they are actually 35 3/4" x 79 1/8. A PR of doors would be 711/2" with an inside frame dimension of 72" x 80". The door size listed is 741'4" x 79 1/8" which means the doors are 3' 1-1/8" x 79". Is this Correct? The focus is the dimensions of the rough opening not the actual door(s) itself. The doors will arrive preassembled in the frame and will be fitted in the rough opening space. The measurements you have are the overall frame sizes (width by height). 2. A raceway has been specified on both doors to connect the door to a magnetic perimeter, the XlO is a self-power lock. It may not be able to send a signal to release any devices. If a raceway is still needed, is there any information available on the size and location of the raceway. This may interfere with the location of the sound seal on the frame and/or interfere with the sound deadening material in the door. The raceway will not interfere with the sound seals on the doors. The doors are tested with the raceway in them. The sound deadening material will not be an issue with the raceway. I'm sending a drawing of the doors and the dashed line shows the location of the raceway. 3. It is extremely rare to find a Pr. of hollow metal doors that have been tested and have the documentation to prove that they are STCSO rated. A Huge majority of the manufactures only offer STC 5O in a single door application STC 49 for double door applications. Does this project need to havedocumented STCSO rating? We requested an STC 50 because the decimal rating drops a little for whatever reason after factory testing. Typically a STC 50 will be actually rated as a STC 47 /48 in the field. IAW ICD 705, SCIF door entrances should be rated at STC 45. 4. In order to properly quote the freight will the destination address have a loading dock and forklift capabilities? These doors and frames are large and heavy and must be unloaded with care. 5. Does the hardware need to be installed prior to shipping or should it just be included in the shipment? Depending on the company, the hardware will come preassembled and will be installed locally. 6. The current solicitation does not list the standoff kits that are necessary when the LKM7003X10 is installed on a metal door.( LKM7000SOK1) It also does not give the removable core rim cylinders housing part# needed for the key override on the LKM7003. We recommend stand off kits on any door that a LKM7000 is installed on. They keep the door from collapsing inward and putting the lock into a bind. The removablve housing part number will be determined by which keyway your facility is currently using. It will accept any IC rim housing and core.
