Description
This is a Sources Sought Notice for Market Research Only. All interested parties please respond with your firm's DUNS Number, Capability Statement and Project List of Similar Work. No award will be made from this notice. No Solicitation, Specifications, or Drawings are Available. Do not request a copy of a solicitation. This Notice is published to gain knowledge of technically qualified Small Business concerns including 8(a), Historically underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone), Small Businesses and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) that are interested in and capable of performing the renovation detailed below. Project Description: This project is to design and construct repairs and improvements to the Wilkie D. Ferguson Courthouse in Miami, Florida that will correct leaks in the waterfall located at the exterior plaza. The waterfall is attached to the north wall of the parking garage and extends from Levels 1 through 3. Decorative slate tiles are adhered to EPS foam backing that forms the sculpted shape and appearance of the waterfall. The foam is attached to the CMU wall on the north side of the parking garage with threaded rods and adhesive. Water is supplied to the waterfall via 25 vertical PVC pipes that are also attached to the CMU wall. The pipes are channeled through the foam to a horizontal perforated pipe inside a fiberglass-clad plywood weir trough at the top of the waterfall. A stainless steel horizontal cap is provided over the EPS foam. One end of the cap terminates over the outside edge of the weir and the other terminates over the slate tile face of the waterfall. A waterproof coating has been applied to surfaces inside the weir and to the stainless steel cap. Water flows out of the weir, over the stainless steel wall cap, and then over the slate tiles on the face of the waterfall. Water is leaking through the weir trough. The water travels down the wall between the EPS foam and CMU back-up wall and eventually leaks out at the 3rd level parking garage and at the mechanical pump room below the garage. Voids, splits and peeling/delaminating have been observed in the membrane applied to the weir trough. These conditions suggest that water infiltration is occurring through the membrane and through the fiberglass liner. It may also be occurring at penetrations through the weir and at inadequately sealed PVC pipe connections, as well as through the interface transition of the weir to the stainless steel cap. The designer-builder shall design and construct appropriate repairs and improvements to the membrane applied to the weir and to the stainless steel wall cap to seal all penetrations, joints, cracks, interfaces, and other potential points of water intrusion. In addition, the designer-builder shall provide a ten-year (10-year) labor and materials warranty on new membranes. Construction Range: $125,000.00 to $175,000.00 Period of Performance: All work must be completed within one hundred sixty-eight (168) calendar days (24 weeks) of notice to proceed.
