- Description
- USDA's Farm Service Agency, Kansas City Commodity Office (KCCO), Domestic Procurement Division, is seeking information about qualified suppliers, and available supplies, of raw shelled peanut. This notice will service as the market research to obtain information for the potential procurement of this product. All information gathered in response to this Sources Sought Notice will be used solely for planning purpose. This is not a formal solicitation but a request for interested parties to provide information. No current solicitation exists and requests for a solicitation will be ignored. Specifications for Raw Shelled Peanuts for potential purchase by KCCO: 1. Shelled Runner Type Peanuts only. 2. U.S. Number 1 Runner and U.S. Split Runner Grades may be procured. 3. Various American Peanut Shellers Association (APSA) Shelled Runner Peanut Grades may be procured. Pursuant to Agricultural Acquisition Regulation 470.103(b), commodities and the products of agricultural commodities acquired under this contract must be a product of the United States, and shall be considered to be such a product if it is grown, processed, and otherwise prepared for sale or distribution exclusively in the United States. Specific information from interested parties is requested in order to initiate the procurement. Please provide the following information. 1. The availability of 100 percent domestic origin product. 2. The amount of time needed to be in a position to extend an offer to sell to KCCO. 3. Quantities likely available for sale to KCCO and over what period of time. 4. Pricing information. 5. Small Business Administration (SBA) size status of your firm. 6. Any other information beneficial to the government. Written responses shall be mailed to the attention of Ray Boyd at KCCO-DPD, Stop 8718, P.O. Box 419205, Kansas City, MO 64141-6205, and telephone: 816-926-2612. Written responses may also be transmitted via email at roy.boyd@kcc.usda.gov. These responses must be received no later than 30 days after publication of this notice. The applicable NAICS code for this procurement is 424590 with a small business standard of 500 employees. The Government intends to issue a solicitation for this product. The solicitation will provide the specifications, the office to which offers are to be submitted, the closing time for receipt of offers, and other applicable provisions.
