- JOFOC THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE-SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The intent of this Special Notice is for informational purposes only. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Eastern Business Service Center intends to solicit a quote and enter into a contract with Ames, Inc. herein referred to as Contractor for the repair/refurbish of Two Fairbanks Morse Pumps which is the only source for this item. The anticipated award date is on or about August 4 th, 2014. The Facilities Service Division at BARC East Beltsville Maryland has a need to have these two pumps repaired/refurbished to ensure their proper operation for years of service to come. After Market research it is determined that there is only one source available for the type equipment repair. The statutory authority for this sole source procurement is FAR 6.302-1(a)(2). The NAICS code for this action is 333911. ARS requires that all contractors doing business with the Acquisition Office must be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM). No award can be made unless the vendor is registered in SAM. For additional information and to register in SAM, please access the following website: http://www.SAM.gov. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government shall consider all responsible sources received within five days of this posting. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona-fide capability to fulfill the requirement.
