- Description
- Scope of Work: 1.Remove existing Building # 3 and disconnect and cap all utilities lines underground (2 feet minimum). 2.Incorporate service of certified Industrial Hygienist (I.H.) to prepare the abatement documents (drawings and specifications), and review all asbestos submittals. 3.Prior to demolition, the contractor shall perform a complete Asbestos abatement of the entire building. 4.Incorporate all necessary construction phasing as required to implement the construction to avoid blocking roadway, parking lots, and disrupting the medical center operation. 5.Provide 7ft (seven) high, chain-linked fence along perimeter of building during demolition. Additional protection may be necessary, at the discretion of the project engineer (i.e. Jersey barricades, metal plates, etc ¦). 6.All services such as water/sewer, electric, and gas shall be disconnected and removed from the equipment and structure(s) accordingly. All lines serving the building to be demolished shall be capped with appropriate plumbing devices. 7.Upon completion of the Asbestos abatement, Bulldozing of building #3 is to be conducted, on weekends only (Friday evening to Sunday). 8.Properly dispose of all waste, debris, material, and equipment in accordance with applicable local and state laws. All recycle materials must be recycled accordingly. 9.Upon completion of the demolition, the contractor shall provide any topsoil or clean fill dirt that may be needed to fill voids, depressions or holes resulting from the demolition process. The demolition site shall be compacted, graded and free from protrusions, demolition debris and abrupt edges. 10.Contractor shall provide As-built drawings within 30 Calendar Days after the project is completed. 11.Contractor shall have access to all available "As-Built" drawings. 12.All work shall conform to VA criteria and regulation. Design shall comply with latest NFPA 101 Life Safety, NFPA 99 Health Care Facilities, and VA Design Standards and Criteria.
