- Description
- The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy (MC&FP) is directly responsible for programs and policies that establish and support community quality of life programs for service members and their families worldwide. This office serves as the focal point for coordination of the broad range of quality of life issues within the Department of Defense (DoD). Specifically, MC&FP performs the following functions: • Provides for family support policies and programs in such areas as family center operations, child care, youth programs, family advocacy, relocation, transition support services, and support during mobilization and deployment (including casualty affairs). • Provides policy and management direction for dependants' education programs stateside and overseas to ensure that educational services are of uniformly high quality. • Establishes program policy for mission sustaining and basic community programs for Morale, Welfare, and Recreation, Voluntary and Post-Secondary Education and coordinates the services of non-profit agencies such as the Red Cross, Armed Services, YMCA, and the USO. • Provides policy and program oversight to ensure that military community quality of life programs are designed and executed to support the needs of the post-drawdown force and the Defense mission. • Coordinates the DoD oversight of the Armed Forces Retirement Home Board. MAIN OBJECTIVE: 1. MAIN OBJECTIVES. Create and maintain a series of simulation based training systems that will help provide realistic practice opportunities while assisting with the standardization of training to ultimately provide military family members with the best support possible during their times of greatest need. These versatile systems will be designed to enhance introductory training and provide annual recertification training to CNOs and CAOs/CACOs. Simulations are designed to be user-driven stand-alone training integrated and available to trainees through the Joint Knowledge Online (JKO) or as part of an existing instructor-led blended-learning classroom environment. Each system will include a comprehensive e-learning component, a Level IV interactive role-play simulation, and extensive user feedback. •1.1. Plan, design, develop, assemble, and prepare DoD approved simulation training curriculum IAW applicable regulations and directives. •1.2. Create installation package for delivery of simulation training.
