- Description
- The VA intends to award a single Firm Fixed Price contract to provide primary and secondary analysis of raw whole genome and exome sequencing data. At this time the VA anticipates the need for research and development services to achieve the following: Process datasets from up to 2000 Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) and 20,000 Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) experiments to produce aligned genomic reports, each of which includes called sequence and structural variants. In addition, the called variants from up to 220,000 sets of separate Single Nucleotide Polyporphisms (SNP)-Chip experiments are to be integrated into a single data repository. The data provided shall be compatible with existing data and analysis software systems currently installed and utilized at the Veteran's Administration (VA) Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) and/or its Research Affiliates. The contractor shall also provide tertiary analysis support for multi-genome analysis, annotation and quality control of analysis as well as distributed database and processing power to study large cohorts in aggregate to derive insights for case-control studies and disease association studies. When the project is complete, the contractor shall deliver all specifications and designs used for the genomic analysis system to the VAPAHCS. Various reports shall be required and all Data collection shall be property of the Department of Veterans Affairs. The intention of this notice is to seek sources that could potentially provide these services. Firms with interest and capability to respond to this requirement should develop short (1-3 pages) narrative capability statement and past performance history of similar requirements including relevant experience and other information indicating and evidencing capability to successfully meet the aforementioned requirements. Responding to this not does not guarantee any opportunity for the contract, and is only used for VA planning purposes. For questions regarding these services required for this requirement and to submit capability statements please contact Michael.haydo@va.gov or 412-822-3158.
