Description
SCA Wage determination RFQ This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for services in which the government intends to acquire in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Alaska Fisheries Science Center, Auke Bay Laboratories has a requirement. Primary productivity experiments using stable isotopes (15N and 13C) will be conducted at 7 depths during 2014 Spring Mooring and BASIS late summer surveys in the eastern Bering Sea (EBS). These experiments provide valuable information on phytoplankton growth rates. These growth rates will be used to estimate the productivity of the eastern Bering Sea ecosystem and amount of carbon fixed that is ultimately available for higher level consumers, such as juvenile salmon and age 0 pollock. We request stable isotope analysis of primary productivity samples (13C and 15N enriched seawater samples filtered onto GF/F filters) to estimate carbon and nitrogen uptake, and analysis of un-enriched sample filters to estimate baseline particulate 13C and 15N. See attached statement of work for complete description of services. All interested concerns must submit a quotation and documentation demonstrating the qualifications to provide services as described above within fifteen (15) days of the publication date of this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. A firm-fixed order is anticipated to be issued in immediately.
