- Description
- NASA/GRC has a requirement for a 2 year license renewal for ANSYS Fluent software. NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from Ansys, Inc., 275 technology Drive, Canonsburg, PA 15317 as a sole source. This license renewal is needed to re-activate the CFD solver ANSYS Fluent, which is currently installed on a 24-processor linux workstation here at the NASA Glenn Research Center. The current license will expire on July 15, 2014, after which the ANSYS Fluent software will no longer function. ANSYS Fluent is a critical component for the Advanced Stirling Convertor development. No other software will work with our Advanced Stirling Convertor development. This software license is not available through another vendor. Therefore, it is in the best interest of the government to purchase this software as a sole source acquisition from Ansys, Inc. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and 13. This is a sole source synopsis. Not a request for quotes. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 7/25/2014. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. [OMBUDSMAN STATEMENT IS REQUIRED] NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable. The Center Ombudsman for this acquisition can be found at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/pub/p ub_library/Omb.html.
