Description
NASA/GSFC has a requirement for a short-term delivery (3-6 months), of a specialized solid-state laser.The specifications are provide for this synopsis/solicitation below. Center Wavelength (vacuum): 1064.1-1064.5nm Beam quality: Collimated; M2 < 1.5 Q switch type: Active-Q switch (Trigger in or out should beavailable) Pulse width: 3ns~50ns (doesn't have to be variable, ~30ns preferable) Rep rate: 5 KHz (min) ~10kHz (doesn't have to be variable) (10 KHz preferred) Energy: 1~2mJ/pulse (>1mJ (min); 2 mJ desired) Linewidth: Single longitudinal mode, transform limited. Polarization: linear Polarization extinction ratio: 20 db (desired) Operating conditions: standard lab environment (10 to 30 oC) and commercial aircraft cabin environment. Maximum size: ~3 sq ft for the main optical module (specify power supply dimensions) Cooling system: air convection preffered (water cooling acceptable but not desired) Timing jitter (wrt the trigger signal): less than the pulse width (e.g. <30ns) This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to use the On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above or it may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.g ov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. The Government intends to award using FAR Part 13 and Subpart 13.5 "Test Program for Certain Commercial Items". Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred) To Katheryn.a.thomas@nasa.gov no later than 2:30 Eastern Stardard Time on July 25, 2014. It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any).
