Description
A.Topographic / Utility Survey “ General Requirements 1.Intent. It is the intent of this contract to acquire a complete and accurate topographic survey in both hard-copy and electronic format for the identified project. 2.Responsibility. A Registered Land Surveyor or a Registered Civil Engineer, experienced in doing topographic surveys, shall be directly responsible for the proper execution of the surveying work to be performed. 3.Survey Limits: The survey limits shall be sufficient to properly design and construct all aspects the project. Refer to attached vicinity map showing the location of the survey area. An aerial photograph is available to give an indication of the extent of the wooded areas. New Construction Site: Survey an area of approximately 2 acres. The site is located at existing Fire Station #2 building 379 on Allen Road. Survey will extend to the south side of Allen Road (15 feet from edge of pavement) to capture the utilities along the road. Survey will extend to the south side of Allen Road (100 feet from edge of pavement) to capture the storm water outfall for the site. All other survey boundaries that border a paved surface shall extend to the edge of the pavement. B.Geotechnical Investigation “ General Requirements 1.Intent. It is the intent of this contract to acquire a complete and accurate geotechnical investigation for the project through obtaining boring logs, performing soil testing and incorporating this and other pertinent information into a comprehensive subsurface investigation report for the site. The proposed structure will be a 1,500 SF, 1 story, slab on grade, steel frame building with non-load-bearing masonry exterior walls. The loads for continuous footings are expected to be approximately 5 kips/foot maximum and column loads approximately 40 kips maximum. 2.Responsibility. A Registered Geotechnical Engineer shall be directly responsible for the proper execution of the work to be performed. All geotechnical work shall comply with applicable IBC standards unless otherwise noted herein. The Geotechnical Engineer of Record shall advise the Contracting Officer if additional subsurface investigation and/or testing, above and beyond what is identified herein, is required to adequately provide the required design services. The site is partially open and accessible; and, partially wooded. Any tree cutting necessary to perform the geotechnical testing shall be included in the cost of the investigation. All cut trees shall be left on-site.
