- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to FluidX North America. The CDC PATH Study requires a robust and fully compatible automated system capable of processing approximately 10,000 samples per year for the next two years for multiple laboratories. The FluidX Automatic 24 Screw Top tube decapper/recapper system is a 20kg system equipped to handle this large sample load. It is equipped with an integrated glide rail; sensor driven detection for height calibration; functions for cap hold, cap waste and cap error detection; and additional fast cycle times of 25 second for whole rack, 22 second for decapping and 31 second recapping. This automated system is configured to remove and replace screw caps from 24 format racked tubes. This decapper/recapper whole rack system is capable of improving productivity while while reducing the risk of cross contamination, sample mix up and repetitive strain injury. The usage of this unit will reduce the need for project analysts to manually uncap/cap sample vials for analysis. Furthermore, it can be integrated with other systems for automated dispensing or used stand alone. Additionally, using this equipment will also provide optimal conditions for the operator, because usage improves upon the design of the method in order to optimize ergonomic and overall system performance. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to William Brannen at VWL0@cdc.gov by 5:00 P.M EST., JULY 30TH, 2014. FAR REFERENCE: FAR 5.207- Preparation and transmittal of synopses under (c)(15), (c)(16) (i), and (c)(16)(ii).
