- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network 23 Contracting Office; Ft. Meade, South Dakota intends to award a Fixed Price contract in accordance with FAR Part 12 and 13. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 811219 for ANNUAL OPERATIONAL, SAFETY AND LOAD TESTING INSPECTIN OF ALL TOLLOS BRAND CEILING LIFTS LOCATED IN BUILDING 76, SCI DEPARTMENT at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, and the business size standard is $10Million. Description of the Requirement: The Contractor shall complete the annual inspection of 41 Tollos brand patient ceiling lifts located in various locations throughout building 76, also known as Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), of the Minneapolis VA Health Care System facility (VAHCS). 1.General Scope of Work: A.Provide all labor, materials, and associated tools and equipment to perform the manufacturer's annual inspection, testing, and safe patient handling certification of lifts. B.Perform weight load testing of trolley system, using 100 percent of the Safe Working Load rating of the motor's capacity. Most motors are rated at a maximum weight capacity of 600 pounds, but the vendor shall check each motor's capacity at the time of inspection and testing. The motor shall be removed during testing, with a separate anchor system installed for the testing weights. C.A vertical deflection measurement shall be taken over the entire length of the track while the weight test is being performed, with the deflection results noted on the Tollos 'annual track inspection report'. Any deflection measurements exceeding the manufactures stated allowance, shall be reported to the COR or designated representative of Facilities Engineering, within 10 business days. D.A new inspection label shall be placed over, or in place of, the existing inspection label on the track system. At a minimum, the label shall state the name of the company performing the inspection, and the date of completed inspection. E.The annual inspection and 'Safe Weight Load' testing shall meet or exceed the manufacturer's standards and requirements, as listed by the most updated inspection forms issued from Tollos Incorporated.
