Description
This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures and FAR 6.302-2 for other than full and open competition. The US Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground - Installation Contracting Division, 6001 Combat Drive, Aberdeen, Maryland, 21005 has a requirement for the following: Full service on a Magee Scientific Portable Aethalometer. The service includes but is not limited to replacement of broken internal and rear fittings, calibration and cleaning of all sensors, full system leak checks to include input and output ports, and replacing of the computer board, flashcard drive, optical source, and optical cylinder, and power supply as necessary. The intended period of performance is 1August2014-31July2015. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other will satisfy the agency requirements, the Government intends to award a firm-fixed price sole source contract to Magee Scientific, 1916 M.L. KING JR. WAY, BERKELEY, CA, 94704-1016,. This firm is the sole source manufacturer and maintenance of this service and the vendor owns the proprietary rights to this software. The associated North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334516 and the Business Size Standard is 500 employees. Efforts to solicit other contractors are being made via this announcement in accordance with FAR 5.2. All responses received within ten (10) days after date of publication of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 4:00 PM Eastern Time, 18 July 2014. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements.
