- DARPA-SN-14-40 Squad X Infrastructure Study This Special Program Announcement describes a research thrust, entitled "Squad X Infrastructure Study," to be launched under the current DARPA TTO Office Wide Broad Agency Announcement (BAA), DARPA-BAA-14-25, entitled, "Innovative Systems for Military Missions." DARPA is soliciting white papers and proposals to be received under DARPA-BAA-14-25. The requirements for the white paper submission, evaluation, and award of any resulting contracts will ultimately be subject to the terms described in said BAA. The research opportunity described in this announcement currently falls under the following sections of DARPA-BAA-14-25: Ground Systems - Soldier/Squad Technologies: Part 2, "Full Text of Announcement," Section I, "Funding Opportunity Description," sub-section C "Detailed Description of TTO Focus Areas," sub-section 1 "Ground Systems," paragraph a, entitled "Soldier/Squad Technologies." The purpose of this announcement is (1) to focus the attention of the scientific community on the areas to be studied, (2) to initiate dialogue amongst those interested in these areas, and (3) to share the planned timetable for the submission of white papers. DARPA is interested in receiving white papers and proposals on the following research topic: "Squad X Infrastructure." The objective of this research is to help define the state-of-the-art and future research directions in the area of dismounted squad operations.
