- The purpose of this amendment is to revise the description of the solicitation. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the acquisition of Specialized Protective Force Security Services for the Office of Health, Safety and Security. This solicitation will be competitive and set aside for small businesses. The principal purpose of this acquisition is to provide Specialized Protective Force Security Services to the Office of Health, Safety and Security, in the areas of prevention of unauthorized access; protecting life and property; protecting and control of classified and sensitive information; maintaining order; and deterrence of criminal activity in and around the DOE Headquarters facilities in the Washington, D.C. and Germantown, MD areas. A Firm Fixed Price Contract with separate cost reimbursable line items for ODCs, emergency support, and other additional support, is contemplated, consisting of 90 day transition period, one-year base period, and four one-year option periods Access to classified material will be involved and the successful contractor employees must have or be capable of obtaining a DOE ?Q,? Top Secret or equivalent clearance with the exception of five employees that shall possess an ?L? access authorization. The applicable North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) is 561621- Security Guards and Patrol Services. The size limit standard for the NAICS code is $19M. All responsible small businesses under the applicable NAICS may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the Department of Energy. There will be a site visit/pre-proposal conference.
