- Description
- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for the repair and refurbishment of the solar array hot box and associated equipment. NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Emcore only. This equipment was developed by Emcore and no other company has the expertise that is required to repair this equipment. Authority is FAR 13.106B(1) Only one source reasonably available. This procurement will be processed using FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This synopsis shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information solicited. Any questions should be directed to the attention of Agnes L. Smith via e-mail at Agnes.L.Smith@nasa.gov or via facsimile at 301-286-0794 by July 22, 2014. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on July 25, 2014. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
