- This synopsis is not a request for quotes or proposals. This is a notice that a solicitation for a competitive acquisition for the award of one firm-fixed price contract is scheduled to be released via FedBizOpps (www.fbo.gov) in the near future. The specific tasks will be detailed in the solicitation. This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract. Quotes will be due approximately 15 days from the date the solicitation is issued, however, the 15 day time frame is an estimate and subject to change. The definitive quote due date and time will be stated in the solicitation and any associated amendments that may be issued. No CD's or hard copies will be available. Offerors are responsible for checking the referenced page for any update(s) to the Notice. The Government is not responsible for any loss of Internet connectivity or for an offeror's inability to access the document posted at the referenced website. Summary of Work: The purpose and goal of this contract is to procure an intrusion detection system and alarm monitoring services. Project facilities have a history of electronic intrusion detection and access control through previous providers. Generally, a large amount of infrastructure (sensors, conduits, and lines) is available for repurposing and utilization to support new system installation. All existing intrusion detection system (IDS) and access control sensors should be assumed to be approximately 10 years of age or older; therefore, compatibility of old IDS equipment with components installed in association with this effort should be tested and confirmed by the contractor to ensure fulfillment of contract requirements. IDS installation is not comprised of any work considered seasonal in nature and fulfillment may commence uninterrupted at any time following award. Monitoring services require immediate notification to specified points of contact. Notifications must be initiated not later than five minutes following receipt of alarm event, or after a period of sixty minutes of loss of communication with the IDS. Set-aside status: The solicitation is scheduled to be issued 100% Small Business. Conducting Business with the Government: In order for contractors to conduct business with the Department of Defense, the contractor must provide registration information to the System for Award Management (SAM). All Offerors must be SAM registered prior to receiving an award. Registration instructions may be obtained, and online registration may be accomplished, at www.sam.gov. By submission of a quote, a vendor acknowledges the requirement to be registered in the SAM database prior to award, during performance, and through final payment of any contract resulting from the solicitation. If you are not SAM registered, you will need to complete and provide paragraphs (B) through (I) of provision 52.212-3 Alt. I in the solicitation.
