Description
INDUSTRY DAY NOTIFICATION Mississippi Coastal Improvements Program (MsCIP) Comprehensive Barrier Island Restoration Plan, Phase 1 - Ship Island Restoration The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, will be conducting an industry day to solicit contractor input for final plans and specification development for the initial phase of the MsCIP Comprehensive Barrier Island Restoration Plan. The scope of work for the Phase 1 effort consists of the placement of approximately 6.7 million cubic yards of sand at Ship Island to close the approximately 3.5 mile wide breach known as Camille Cut. The borrow areas for the project are located in the Gulf of Mexico, south of Horn and Petit Bois Islands, approximately 20 - 35 miles from the placement site in water depths of 25 - 60 feet. The industry day event will be held from 8:30 - 12:30 CST on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 201 Saint Michael Street, Mobile, AL 36602 in Suite 100. The meeting will consist of a general session with a presentation on the project development followed by an open discussion/feedback period. Additionally, individual 30 minute break out sessions will be held, at the request of the contractor, after the general session is over. Contractor comments and suggestions are strongly encouraged. The contract will be a quote mark C quote mark type Invitation for Bid (IFB) solicitation and it is tentatively scheduled for advertisement in early December 2014. Contract award is tentatively scheduled for mid-February 2015 with a period of performance of approximately 15 months.
