Description
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to award a Purchase Order on a single source basis to IZON Sciences US LTD, 85 Bolton Street, Cambridge, MA 02140 under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). This requirement is being issued in conjunction with FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Notwithstanding, any firm that believes it is capable of providing the required items/services as stated herein may submit a capability statement/quotes to the notices with ten (10) days after the date of publication of the is notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed simplified acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement. No further solicitation is available. The FDA has a requirement to purchase a qNano system for nanopore-based characterization and quantitation of micrometer- and nanometer-sized protein particles in biotechnology products. The instrument should be "Brand Name or Equal" to the qNano instrument from IZON Science USA Ltd. The system should meet the following minimum requirements: a. A tunable nanopore-based measurement system using resistive pulse sensing combined with size- tunable pores at the nano-scale; b. Provide multi-parameter fluid-borne analysis of micro- and nano-sized particles (50 nm to 20 μm) in a single system; c. Quantify and monitor the physical properties (size, charge, concentration) of a wide range of particle types. The Salient Characteristics for the qNano Instrument: (1) A tunable nanopore-based measurement system using resistive pulse sensing combined with size- tunable pores at the nano-scale; (2) Measure protein particles in size range of 50 nm to 20 μm; (3) A laptop to control the instrument and conduct data analysis; (4) An open site license for the operating software; (5) Starter pack including reagents, calibration particle sets and 3 × nanopores; (6) Include 2 days of on-site training and a detailed online training for all the users (7) Include 24 month warranty. All responsible vendors are encouraged to submit a response to this notice. FDA will consider all responses received prior to the closing date of this notice and will use responses in determining whether it is necessary to use full and open competition for this requirement.
