Description

The National Veteran TEE (Training, Exposure, Experience) Tournament, (NTVTEE), is a golf rehabilitation program, that also exposes Veterans to other recreational activities such as: bowling, kayaking, horseshoes, horseback riding, and golf instruction. Veterans that participate are legally blind, have traumatic brain injuries, those with amputations, and those that use or are restricted to wheel chairs as well as a variety of other disabilities. The NVTEE Tournament uses a therapeutic format to promote rehabilitation, fellowship, and camaraderie among its participants. The NVTEE event is planned and hosted by the Iowa City VA Health Care System. The Department of Veterans Affairs requires the use of approximately 200 furnished hotel or motel rooms for the National TEE Tournament Event held the second full week of September 8-12, 2014. The rooms offered shall be within a twenty (20) miles driving distance of the VA Medical Center, Hwy 6 West, Iowa City, Iowa 52246 for September 8-12, 2014. All facilities must be within a 20 mile radius of the Iowa City VA Medical Center as it is the host facility and will be providing medical coverage for the event. The Contractor shall provide dinner for 495 on Monday, (9/8), dinner for 495 on Tuesday, (9/9) and 550 on Thursday (9/11). Breakfast buffet shall be provided Tuesday through Friday, (9/8 thru 9/12). All dinners shall be seated, hot buffet style meals and held in a buffet area or the "large convention area" of the hotel. The Contractor shall provide a golf course and instructional practice area to include a driving range, chipping area and putting greens for instructional purposes.
