- The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) in support of US Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD) intends to negotiate solely (as prescribed om FAR 13.106(b)(1)(i) with BioDAQ, 20 Jules Lane, New Brunswick, NJ 08901 for the procurement of 16 Cage E3 BioDAQ food intake hardware for manual measures with automated gate controllers by time only, and duplicate set of cages for use in animal husbandry. The caging and food-control system must meet the following minimum essential characteristics: Control up to 16 cages simultaneously. Be automated and controlled via computer. Operate without the use of wireless technology. Work with standard inch pelleted rodent diets. Have standard shoebox Plexiglas cages with wire lid. Come equipped with a low-vibration rack on heavy duty casters. Have the ability to set the food control access to start and end at specific times each day. Have hoppers mounted at the end of the cage for easy checking/re-filling by animal husbandry or investigative personnel. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 334516 and the size standard is 500 people. This announcement constitutes the only notice by the government; a written solicitation will not be issued. All sources that believe they are eligible to provide these items must respond in writing. Responses must be supported with clear and convincing evidence to clearly articulate the ability to provide the items outlined above. A request for documentation will not be considered an affirmative response. This Special Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotes. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government. If no written responses are received by the date listed below, which reflects fifteen (15) days after the publication of this notice, the purchase will be awarded without further remark. All questions and responses concerning this notice shall be emailed to Ms. Jennifer Hayden at jennifer.e.hayden.civ@mail.mil. Interested concerns must identify their capability in writing to the above e-mail address or by mail to the address listed below no later than 1:00 pm EST, Tueday July 15, 2014.
