Description
4thQFY16-4thQFY21 155mm Canister Base Assembly and 155mm Canister Metal Parts Assembly (Market Survey): The U.S. Army Contracting Command-New Jersey (ACC-NJ), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager Combat Ammunition Systems (OPM-CAS), is conducting a market survey to identify qualified sources capable of providing 155mm Canister Base Assembly and 155mm Canister Metal Parts Assembly. These assemblies are used in the 155mm M485A2, M1066, M1123, and M1124 illuminating projectiles. The purpose of this survey is to obtain current information on the capability of small businesses to provide these products to the warfighter in the 4thQFY16-4thQFY21 timeframe. The Canister Metal Parts Assembly used in 155mm illuminating projectiles consists of cylindrical steel tubing with a Nose attached by welding to close off one end, and three Fins which are pre formed and also attached by welding. Additional processing of the Fins is required to roll them against the cylindrical tubing after welding and plating. The Canister Base Assembly is a steel assembly consisting of a cylindrical Base plate, Swivel Pin, ball bearings and a Disc. The parts are assembled and the Disc crimped in place to secure the assembly. This assembly is used to seal the final internal contents of the Canister Metal Parts Assembly and is retained with groove pins. When these assemblies are dispensed from the 155mm projectile, the Fins are deployed to slow the spin rate prior to dispensing the illuminating candle which is housed inside the Canister Metal Parts Assembly. Technical Data Packages will not be provided as part of this announcement. To be considered as a capable source for this effort, all interested parties must submit the requested information as follows: a)Provide evidence of capabilities including an ability to produce the155mm Canister Base Assembly and 155mm Canister Metal Parts Assembly at a rate of 3,000 units per month, concurrently; b)Manufacturing experience to include: machining, forming, stamping, welding, assembly, crimping, plating, quality inspection or similar items within the past 3 years; c)Description of facilities, special processes, manufacturing capacity, personnel and environmental compliance as it relates to the above technical services; d)Provide evidence of Quality Assurance and Reliability programs to support these technical services; and e)Provide their name, address, point of contact, telephone, email, and size of business. All contractors interested in this potential future solicitation must be registered in the System of Award Management (SAM). This is a market survey for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a RFP or as an obligation on the part of the Government. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey. All submissions are requested to be made within fifteen (15) calendar days from the date of this publication at no cost to the Government. All information submitted will be held in a confidential status. The maximum allowable page limit to the market survey response shall be no more than 15 pages in length. The requested information should be sent to Michael Samra, ACC-NJ-CA, via email ONLY to: michael.w.samra.civ@mail.mil.
