- 14SNB26_spec note MARKET SURVEY - The Government is issuing this RFI/sources sought announcement as part of a market survey and Request for Information (RFI). Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division located at the Naval Support Activity, Crane, IN is looking for companies with the capabilities and facilities to provide Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS), Non-Developmental Items (NDI), or near NDI, for a Power Supply. The power supply shall operate off an input power per MIL-STD-1399 Section 300B Type I, 115 VAC, 60 Hz, single phase at 20 Amps. The power supply shall be Power Factor Corrected. The unit shall have a visual indicator to indicate unit is on. The AC power will be delivered over cable M24543/16-02-UN (LSTSGU-4). The input and output connectors shall be D38999 military connectors. Output connector shall meet the following IEEE STD 45 2002 Section 24.8 and IEEE STD 835 for ampacities for wire gauge. The mating connector's contacts shall be hand crimp only. All unused contacts will be filled with empty contacts and sealing plugs. The Power Supply shall have an output voltage of 28 VDC @ 50 Amps. (T) The Power Supply shall have an output range of 18 to 32 VDC @ 50 Amps. (O) (T-threshold O-Objective). The enclosure shall be constructed out of aluminum. The unit shall be mountable to a shelf with bolts and locknuts. The Power Supply must meet or exceed the following: - Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) 100,000 hours - Operation Ambient Temperature 0º C to 50º C - Storage Ambient Temperature -40º C to 70º C - DC Magnetic Field meet DOD-STD-1399-10-1 - EME meet MIL-STD-464A, Section 5.3 - EMI/EMC meet MIL-STD-461F Surface Ships - Shock meet MIL-S-901D Grade B, Type A, Class I (12-16 Hz Deck Barge) - Vibration (shipboard) meet MIL-STD-810G, Section 528 Procedure Type I, 4 to 33 Hz - Vibration (Transportation) meet MIL-STD-810G, Section 514.6 Test Type I Categories (4 Common Carrier over US highways,7,9), Test Type II Category 5 - Non-Operating Altitude meet MIL-STD-810G, Method 500.5 Procedure I The Power Supply Dimension shall be less than the following: - Width: 5.5 inches - Length: 14 inches (Mil connector length shall be include) - Height: 5.5 inches - Weight: 13.5 lbs. (pounds) Contractors are encouraged to provide budgetary estimates as well as anticipated production timelines based on order quantities of: 1, 5, 10, 25, and 50 units. All interested parties are encouraged to submit company and product literature, white paper, and/or other pertinent information, such as a description with performance parameters and a statement of current availability, summary of prior testing, test reports, and an estimated cost for price of test articles and production units, for the Government's consideration by 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on 02 July 2014. The white paper shall be limited to 5 pages. Responses from Small and Small Disadvantaged Business firms are highly encouraged. Firms responding should indicate if they are a small business, a socially and economically disadvantaged business, 8(a) firms, historically black colleges or universities, and minority institutions. Responses to the RFI/sources sought shall include the following: Submitter's Name Street Address, City, State, NINE-Digit zip code Point of Contact (POC) POC Telephone and facsimile numbers Announcement Number: N00164-14-S-NB26 CAGE Code Contractors must be properly registered in the Government System for Award Management database (SAM). At the current time, NO FUNDING IS AVAILABLE for contractual efforts. This RFI/sources sought does not constitute an Invitation for Bids (IFB), a Request for Quote (RFQ), or a Request for Proposal (RFP) and it should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the government to issue a formal solicitation or ultimately award a contract. The US Government is in no way liable to pay for or reimburse any companies or entities that respond to this announcement. Any costs incurred by interested companies in response to this announcement will NOT be reimbursed. White papers may be submitted to the Technical Point of Contact any time prior to expiration of this announcement.
