- SD3-60 Sherpa Avionics Matrix Request for Information SN-2014-06 REQUEST FOR INFORMATION - AVIONICS UPGRADE TO SD3-60/C-23B+ SHERPA AIRCRAFT SPECAIL NOTICE NUMBER SN-2014-06 AGENCY: UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE OFFICE: FOREST SERVICE LOCATION: NATIONAL INTERAGENCY FIRE CENTER (NIFC)- BOISE, IDAHO Background: The Government anticipates modifying up to fifteen (15) C-23B+/SD3-60 Sherpa aircraft in support of wildland fire operations. Aircraft operations include smokejumper, passenger, and cargo missions. The aircraft will hold FAA Part 25 Certification at the time of delivery for the avionics upgrade. The attached spreadsheet documents the avionics package currently in each aircraft along with the desired configuration. Desired Capabilities: The Government seeks to develop an upgraded avionics and flight deck system for the Shorts Brother's SD3-60 Sherpa aircraft. Options and suggestions are encouraged. Separate estimates for various options are preferred. The initial system envisioned is an integrated flight deck to include Primary Flight Displays (PFD) and at least one Multi-Function Display (MFD). Integrated display of engine and aircraft systems is preferred. The majority of systems should be from the same manufacturer or, at a minimum, designed for all systems to be fully functional as installed. The following capabilities are envisioned. 1. Pilot and Copilot PFDs 2. Dual Solid State AHRS (Must be capable of operating in Alaska) 3. Dual Air Data systems (RVSM is not required) 4. MFD with color moving map (Specify systems to overlay on map) 5. Tactical Audio Controls, See below 6. Intercom (ICS), See below 7. Dual VHF-FM Radios, See below 8. Dual VHF-AM Radios (118-136.975MHz, Specify if 25KHz or 8.33KHz spacing) 9. 3 Axis Autopilot with Flight Director 10. Dual WAAS GPS/FMS 11. Dual VOR/Localizer/Glideslope/Marker Beacon 12. Dual DME 13. Mode-S Transponder 14. TCAS 15. ADS-B Out (1090ES) 16. ADS-B IN (receiving both 1090ES and UAT) 17. TAWS A 18. Radar Altimeter 19. Weather Radar 20. Angle of Attack (AOA) 21. Automated Flight Following (Compatible with aff.gov) 22. Cabin Public Address (PA) system 23. TSO-C126 ELT 24. Synthetic Vision (optional) 25. ADF (optional) 26. Lighting Detection (optional) 27.
