- Description
- This statement shall describe the scope of work for the installation of automatic sprinkler systems in the two existing paint booths and the associated exhaust system duct work located in Building 107. The scope shall include the modification to the existing fire alarm systems in Building 107. The project shall include the installation of new access panels in the paint booth exhaust duct work as required by NFPA 33 for the inspection of sprinklers in Buildings 107. The project includes the modification of existing domestic water supply riser to provide a new split riser for both domestic and fire protection supply. Provide a new 4-inch backflow preventer for the automatic sprinkler system and reconfigure and reconnect the existing domestic supply in Building 107. The scope of work includes an option to upgrade the existing sprinkler system for the two existing paint booths located in Building 106. This optional work shall also include the modification of the existing fire alarm system in Building 106 as required by the sprinkler modifications. New access panels shall be installed in the paint booth exhaust duct work as required by NFPA 33 for the inspection of sprinklers in Building 106. The project includes the modification of existing water supply riser to replace the existing 2 inch backflow preventer for the automatic sprinklers with a new 4-inch backflow and reconnect the existing 2-inch domestic water supply for the in Building 106. The Contractor shall include necessary design for the required modifications to existing systems and the installation of new systems. Provide working space around all equipment. Provide concrete pads under all equipment. Provide all required fittings, connections and accessories required for a complete and usable system. All equipment shall be installed per the criteria of this RFP and the manufacturer's recommendations. Where the word "should" is used in the manufacturer's recommendations, substitute the word "shall". All Design Documents, (i.e. plans, specifications, and calculations for automatic sprinkler systems) developed for this FRP shall be reviewed and approved by the contractor's Qualified Fire Protection Engineer. The Fire Protection Designer of Record (FPDOR) shall be NICET IV certified.
