- Archival Solicitation This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotations. The RFQ and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular. This RFQ is 100% set-aside for Small Businesses. The NAICS code is 712110 with a size standard of $25.5M. This procurement will be conducted in accordance with FAR Parts 12, 13 and 15. Commercial Items clauses are attached. Quotes should be submitted electronically to katina.barham@dot.gov by 3:00pm local time on Monday, July 7, 2014. Introduction The Maritime Administration (MARAD) is seeking a contractor to complete a series-level survey of archival material housed at the American Merchant Marine Museum (AMMM), a federal facility located on the campus of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, New York. The contractor will survey and evaluate the collection, evaluate and make recommendations for deaccessioning, and, when necessary, re-house the retained archives. Background In 2012, a contractor completed a high level survey of AMMM's archival material, identifying sub-collections, material types, volume, and condition. In total, the material covered within the scope of this contract includes 702 feet of paper and photographic records. The material is stored in several locations throughout the museum building and can be sub-divided into several collections. The Department of Transportation, Maritime Administration, is seeking a contractor to complete a series-level survey and evaluation of archival material housed at the American Merchant Marine Museum (AMMM), a federal facility located on the campus of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, New York. The contract period will be for, 180 days from the date of contract award. All questions shall be submitted to the Contracting Officer by June 30, 2014, by 3:00pm. All questions shall be submitted, in writing, to the Contracting Officer, by email to Katina.barham@dot.gov. Telephone inquiries and requests shall not be honored. All responses to questions shall be posted via amendment to FBO. Quote Submissions Interested parties shall submit a quote for services for the period of 180 days from time award. The response package shall also include at least three references for the same or similar type and complexity of the services required in the RFQ. The reference should include the current and accurate Point of Contact information along with a description of the services provided.
