Notice Type: Request for Industry Comment Posted Date: 24 June 2014 Response Date: 1 August 2014 Set Aside: N/A NAICS Code: 812320 Reference: Laundry & Dry Cleaning Services - 2014 Market Research Agency: Department of the Air Force Office: 87th Contracting Squadron Location: Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ Title: Request for Industry Comment for laundry and dry cleaning services on JB MDL Description(s): The 87th Contracting Squadron, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL), NJ requests interested sources to provide comments to the DRAFT performance work statement (PWS) for the performance of laundry and dry cleaning services for multiple facilities on JB MDL. JB MDL is seeking interested sources for a possible contract, lasting for a base year plus up to four option years, for laundry and dry cleaning services on JB MDL. It is envisioned that the contractor will furnish all labor, equipment, materials, and any other items necessary to provide the service in accordance with the attached draft PWS; commercial standards; and federal, state, and local regulations. Laundry and dry cleaning services to be provided include, but not limited to, pick-up and delivery of laundry according to schedule; picking up and delivering correct quantities of articles to be cleaned; delivering laundry free of all visible dirt, debris, dampness, offensive odors, mildew, cleansing chemicals residue; dry cleaning clothing in an appropriate manner to have a uniform appearance; and ensuring items are properly cleaned/dry cleaned and packaged for delivery to our customers. This Request for Industry Comment is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part JB MDL. This notice is intended strictly for market research and performance work statement (PWS) development. The purpose of this Request for Industry Comment is to determine the interest and capability of potential qualified firms relative to the North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) 812320 (Dry Cleaning and Laundry Services except-coin operated) with the corresponding size standard of $5 million. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Offerors are reminded that only Contracting Officers are authorized to commit the government to the obligation of funds. At this time no solicitation exists. Therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. Provide any comments to the attached DRAFT performance work statement a. Please note any major differences in the government's requirement and similar requirements found in the commercial marketplace. b. Please identify any portions of the draft PWS that, as written, are too restrictive or prohibit the flexibility to perform according to your established practices and why. c. Identify any particular requirement that will drive up costs and/or risks to performance. d. Do the referenced instructions and other publications conflict with established commercial practices? Provide any comments you may have as to standard commercial practices for procuring similar services in the commercial marketplace.
