Description

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has a requirement for a quantity of seven thousand Hamster IV Fingerprint Readers by SecuGen Corporation for HSPD-12 project. The anticipated award date is June 19, 2014. USPTO is exempt from the Competition in Contracting Act under the Patent and Trademark Office Efficiency Act, 35 U.S.C. 2(b)(4)(A) and the subject requirement is being procured using the Alternative Competition Method as described in the Patent and Trademark Office Acquisition Guidelines (PTAG). In accordance with the PTAG §6.1.1, the USPTO has conducted market research for this requirement on June 11, 2014 and the results indicate that only the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) can provide exclusive discounted pricing to successfully meet the agency’s needs.
