Description
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Rapid Acquisition Cell intends to negotiate, and award a sole source, firm-fixed-price contract with Zodiac Data Systems Inc., located at 11800 Amber Park Drive, Alpharetta GA, 30009-2269 for the procurement of the following items, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other goods or services will meet the agency's needs: Qty/Part Number Description 2 Date Rate Modules 4 CF Adaptors for MDR8 1 Replay Station for DSM/RSM/RRM This equipment is required to support continued design, engineering, acquisition, integration, installation, operational support, and in-service engineering at the ACAT II AC-130J Precision Strike Package (PSP) program division at Eglin AFB FL 32542. Zodiac Systems is the only source for these flight data recorders since the system will be used on AC-130J aircraft involving the integration of a version of the previously fields PSP package. It must be identical in form/fit/function to these existing units. In addition, the video analog and data bus modules, are combined with in-house produced hardware and existing Zodiac solid-state MDR-8 recorders as installed in an approved, flight-worthy instrumentation rack to create a platform capable of collecting data required to satisfy the objectives and criteria of this test program, while maintaining the flexibility required to meet combat needs. The contract will result in a delivery date of 200 days ARO. The Government intends to solicit, negotiate and award to only one contractor using other than full and open competition procedures pursuant to the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, all responses received within seven (7) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the Government. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred in preparation of quotes. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any responses to this notice of contract action shall be submitted via email to Marina Hobson, marina.hobson@us.af.mil and Shawn Beauchamp, shawn.beauchamp@us.af.mil no later than 18 June 2014, 16:00 PM CST.
