Description
This is a Sources Sought Notice. There is no solicitation available at this time. The contractor must provide one individual (back-up individual may also be a requirement) for the entire length of the contract to perform reading and assistant duties to a blind Supervisory Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. Responsibilities will include: reading screens on different VA computers systems that are not accessible with a computer screen reader, reading counseling files, bills and reviewing paperwork. As well as assisting with filing, scanning and voucher preparation. Ideal individual will possess excellent work ethic and interpersonal skills. A Resumes will be required, when a solicitation is issued. The selected contractor will be required to provide up to (20) hours per week of duties for the Roanoke VA Regional Office, Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Division (VR&E). Duty location is in Roanoke, VA 24016. The hours will be scheduled on a weekly basis. Estimated Schedule: The contractor is responsible for reader services, between the hours of 7:45 am - 4:15pm Monday thru Friday except Federal holidays or when the Government facility is closed due to local or national emergencies, administrative closings, or similar Government directed facility closings. The government will be flexible to the vendors schedule within the hours of operation. Period of Performance: The contract will be a base period of 12 months, with four one-year optional periods. The start date will be a mutually agreed upon date but services will be needed soon after contract award but not until a Background Investigation has commenced. Our goal is to have a contract in place to enable our vision impaired employees the ability to fully contribute to the team's effort by contracting a reader to assist them in their duties.
