- The Department of Veterans Affairs Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia has a required for Covidien Duraseal Dura Sealant System. The Government has determined there is sufficient competition to set aside this procurement for a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) IAW 15 U.S.C. 657F and FAR 19.1405. The suggested contractor is Covidien, 15 Hampshire St, Mansfield, MA 02048. Product requirement is 2 boxes (5/per box) of DuraSeal Dural Sealant System, product code 202050. System must consist of sterile components for preparation of the sealant and applicator. Sealant must be composed of a polyethylene glycol (PEG) ester solution and a trilysine amine solution. Solution must be able to be prepared in under two minutes and once applied must be able to form a watertight seal within seconds. Solution must be colored so surgeons can determine coverage and thickness. Solution will be able to be safety absorbed by the body during the healing process. Solution must be colored so surgeons can determine coverage and thickness. Solution must be able to be stored at room temperature (77 degrees Fahrenheit (25 degrees Celsius) only. This is a request for proposal. Companies can provide brand name or equal. Bidders must provide for equal product for consideration their technical capabilities to include technical specifications of their product, pas performance information to include product research and technical and peer published reviews, price and delivery time within seven (7) calendar days from the date of the publication of this notice. This information will be technical reviewed by the Chief of Surgery Service at the Charlie Norwood VAMC for consideration for future requirements. This procurement is prepared in accordance with FAR Par 13, using Simplified Acquisition Procedure. Proposal may be submitted to Lois Greene, Contract Specialist, via email at lois.greene@va.gov.
