- Description of Work The Contractor shall provide clinical consultation services to the clinical staff to include advising/consultation on clinical case reviews (new Veterans, updates on cases recently presented, periodic case reviews and crisis situation) and to discuss new or current treatment modalities for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, (PTSD) and other psychological conditions that may result from exposure to war trauma and subsequent readjustment issues. The Contractor will bring knowledge, expertise, judgment and experience to assist staff in providing the best help possible to our Veteran clientele. Personal military experience or professional clinical experience working with veterans is preferred. This shall include advising, gauging, staff assessment, diagnostic impressions and treatment strategies. In some rare emergency cases, staff counselors may contact the external consultant, usually by telephone, as the crisis unfolds, for advice, suggestions or directions. Also, the Contractor shall meet with the clinical team for a minimum of one (1) hour per week not to exceed eight (8) per month at the Portland Vet Center (scheduling to be arranged at time of award with contractor). When inclement weather, schedule conflicts or family emergencies make it impossible for the contractor to meet at that time, the contractor shall be required to give at least a two hour notice and seek to reschedule at the earliest possible date. The Contractor shall have a master's degree and shall be licensed in the State of Maine and should be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Licensed Psychologist, Psychiatrist, Licensed Nurse Practitioner or a Licensed Professional Counselor. Experience in individual, group and family counseling is preferred, with specific experience in diagnosis and treatment of Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) from combat and sexual assault. Familiarity and experience with a variety of treatment regimens is also preferred
