Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate a sole source firm fixed price commercial item contract with Medrad, Inc. to provide the VA Medical Center San Antonio with (1) ANGIOJET Ultra Thrombectomy System. The supply equipment will be delivered to the Department of Veterans Affairs Audie Murphy VA Hospital, 7400 Merton Minter Blvd., San Antonio, TX 78229. The ANGIOJET Ultra Thrombectomy System is to provide an interventional system for restoring blood flow. The goal is to provide appropriate standard of facility care in surgery. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 339112. The Government believes that Medrad, Inc. is the only provider that can satisfy the agency requirements. Therefore, the Government intends to proceed with a sole source for the required instrumentation. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other vendor will satisfy the agency requirements. To the best of our knowledge, Medrad, Inc. is the only source that provides the above indicated supply equipment. This is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available; however, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contract Specialist on or before the closing date, 6/13/2014, of this sources sought notice. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to mandy.thompson2@va.gov. Responses received will be evaluated however, a determination by the Government not to complete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the VAMC San Antonio, TX will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Medrad, Inc.
