Description
NUMBER: PR: 0040146285 POSTED DATE: 06/04/2014 SUBJECT:Reconyx Remote Cameras w/ Accessories This announcement constitutes the only notice. This is not a request for quotes. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses must be received no later than June 9, 2014, by sending an e-mail to almeda_gaddis@fws.gov; however, any technical data received will be for the sole purpose of market research for future requirements. Under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), Fish & Wildlife Services, Region 7 Contracting and General Services intends to issue a sole source, firm-fixed price order to: COMPANY:Reconyx, LLP, DUNS: 557504326 FOR : Reconyx Remote Cameras w/ Accessories ON:06/09/2014 NAICS:333316Photographic and Photocopying Equipment Manufacturing AUTHORITY:8.405-6(a)(2) Limited Sources Justification and Approval 13.106(b) Soliciting from a single source FAR 6.302-2 Unusual and compelling urgency. Determinations not to compete this proposed procurement were made because: Togiak Refuge is a remote location, (located -140 miles from Refuge Headquarters). We found that the cameras performed without any malfunctions. Photo resolution and quality was suitable for counting walrus. Rain, snow, and ice did not incapacitate cameras. Brown bears used the area daily (and were regularly photographed) but did not damage or affect cameras. A report of the pilot test is available. The PC900 HyperFire camera model falls under the Reconyx Professional Series, which are specifically designed for wildlife research. Unlike the Reconyx Outdoor Series of cameras, which are sold by other vendors, the Professional Series cameras are available solely through Reconyx. The Outdoor Series cameras, including the HC500, are designed for milder climates than that at Cape Peirce. The temperature range is narrower, with operational temperatures rated down to minus 20 F. Our temperature regularly drops below minus 20. For more information contact Almeda Gaddis at 907-456-0355 or almeda_gaddis@fws.gov.
