- Solicitation Number: VA-246-14-Q-0517 Notice Type: Combined Synopsis/Solicitation Synopsis: This is a COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for commercial services/items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for solicitation, evaluation, and award as prescribed under FAR 13.1, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. (ii) The solicitation number is VA-246-14-Q-0517 and is issued as a COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION (iii) The provisions and clauses incorporated into this solicitation document are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-72B. Provisions and clauses incorporated by reference have the same force and effect as if they were given in full text. (v) The following is a detailed description of the requirements for this solicitation: SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS The Charles George VA Medical Center - Asheville, NC is seeking UV Light Disinfection Systems: (A)Functions to be performed UV Light Disinfection will be used in multiple areas of the facility including the operating room, emergency department, Community Living Center, and wards. The purpose of the system is to kill germs and bacteria such a C Diff, Norovirus, MRSA and to prevent outbreaks. (B)Performance required 1.Must have up to 7.42 log reduction of bacteria and viruses 2.Must have up to 3.96 log reduction of C Diff 3.Must have flexible cycle times 4-11 minutes to achieve 7 log reduction of virus and bacteria 4.Must have flexible cycle times of 11 - 25 minutes to achieve up to 3.96 log reduction of C Diff 5.Must have automatic motion and heat sensors to protect staff from exposure.
