Description
RECOVERY - The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to fund the proposed action in whole via the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Pub. L. 111-5) (Recovery Act). The agency provides this notice for informational purposes only. The proposed action is under a pre-existing, sole-source, single-award, commercial-services Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) with CA, Inc. under its General Services Administration Federal Supply Schedule Contract number GS-35F-0823M. The agency intends to issue a firm fixed-price call order, following the procedures of FAR 8.405-3(c)(1), for the following support: • Analysis, architecture support, software development, and design, as it relates to mainframe systems automation at SSA; and, • Advocating for the conversion to CA OPS/MVS System State Manager (SSM) at SSA to enhance automated operations capabilities, thus helping SSA provide systems operations that are Available, Stable, Changeable and Securable A successful migration from the National Computer Center (NCC) to the National Support Center (NSC) will require sophisticated automation techniques to ensure a smooth transition to the new environment with minimal interruption of services. The agency currently uses CA OPS/MVS Event Management and Automation (OPSMVS) to automate standard tasks, issue system commands, and respond to critical situations. The operating system and its many components generate millions of events daily. As such, the agency is advocating for the use of a more sophisticated feature of the software called SSM. This notice is for informational purposes only; contractors should not respond.
