Description

The VA Office of Research and Development, James J Peters VA Medical Center, Research Department intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with PeriMed Inc. pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, for the purchase of a laser Doppler flowmetry system to expand data collection capacity on VA funded research initiatives. The system will be used at the Satellite Research Center at the James J Peters VAMC located in Bronx, NY. The equipment is needed by August 1, 2014. The system is an exact duplicate of the existing system located at the James J Peters VA Medical Center. The PF 750 Perilont System is a specially designed device to deliver small amounts of medication to the skin for investigations of skin blood flow. The laser Doppler Module obtains blood flow measurements, which are recorded by a proprietary software program that is connected to the computer through a specialized cable. The system includes the following items: -One (1) PF 750 Perilont System for LDPM, Product Code 93-00124 -Two (2) PF 5010 LDPM Units, Product Code 90-00015 -One (1) PF 5001 Main Unit, Product Code 90-00007 -Two (2) PF 495 RS232 to USB Cable (1m), Product Code 93-00139 This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however; any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than June 9, 2014, (3:00PM, EST). Interest/capability statements may be sent to Travis Gibbons at travis.gibbons@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
