Description

The Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky has a Design/Build requirement for a construction contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment and expert supervision needed to complete project# 603-14-801, Garage Renovation (EMPI). The garage (Building 11) consists of one building partitioned off into five (5) separate sections. Four (4) sections are standard sized single stall garages with the fifth section containing the emergency generator. Currently the building is in disrepair, with damaged roof decking. The intent of the project is to gut the building down to its shell and rebuild it with climate control and security provisions necessary to maintain an Emergency Management Supply Cache. The four (4) newly renovated garage stalls shall be shall be tied in and connected to the existing emergency generator contained in the fifth section in order to maintain electric and HVAC during a power outage. Design and Construction will include complete removal and replacement of the roof and decking, replacement of four garage doors, removal of all windows to be bricked in, addition of HVAC to the four garage stalls, replacement of all existing electrical wiring and tie-in of all new electric in to the existing emergency generator. The contractor will also incorporate all applicable VA guidelines, policies, and procedures. Design services will include all development drawings and specifications to be completed and reviewed and approved by VA staff prior to construction. NAICS code 238990 is applicable to this project. The small business size standard is $14M The estimated cost of construction is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00 The period of performance for Design and Construction shall be completed within 270 days from receipt of Notice to Proceed. This is a 100% set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned businesses under the authority of 38 U.S.C section 8127 (d). Interested Bidders/Offerors must be listed and viewable in the Vendor Information Portal on www.vetbiz.gov. The site will be check at the time of submission and prior to award. This requirement is a two-step Design/Build and will be procured in accordance with FAR 36.3 and FAR 15. Significant Dates to remember for this requirement: Solicitation to be issued- Friday, June 13, 2014 Organized Site Visit- Thursday June 19, 2014 @ 1:00pm ET Phase 1 Proposal Submission Due-Monday July 14, 2014 @ 2:00pm ET Phase 2 Proposal Submission Due-Friday August 29, 2014 @ 2:00pm ET It is anticipated that this requirement will be awarded on or before September 30, 2014.
