Description
The Northwest Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission and Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership with present the 3rd Annual Dynamic Networking for Small Business with the support of the Army Corps of Engineers and Small Business Administration. WHEN: June 19, 2014 Time: 8:00 pm - 4:00 pm Event registration begins at 7:30 am. WHERE: Bayfront Convention Center, 1 Sassafras Pier, Erie, PA COST: No fee to attend. TO REGISTER: You may register at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2014DyNetRegistration. This year the event will kick-off at 8:00 am with a panel of industry leaders discussing new opportunities in the rail and transportation equipment manufacturing sectors. Northwest Pennsylvania is the subject of a federally-funded initiative to map and support local manufacturing supply chains. The panel discussion is part of this initiative. There will be a two-hour speed networking/matching component to this event from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. This is where you can present your capabilities to government agencies and prime contractors. Two Breakout Sessions will close the event. Attendees may select one of two workshop options during each session. A brief synopsis of each workshop is below: NEW! MEP Supply Chain Optimization - 2:00 to 3:00 PM The national Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) is designed to help U.S. manufacturers compete in the global marketplace. A new program was developed by MEP to help local firms create more effective supply chains. The workshop will introduce participants to the Total Cost of Ownership (TOC) methodology. Presented by Mark Schmit, NIST MEP. Doing Business with a General Contractor - 2:00 to 3:00 PM Subcontracting with a prime contractor is a great way to "get your foot in the door" of government contracting. Attendees will learn how to market their goods and services to a general contractor/construction manager, how to be added to their database for future solicitations and tips on preparing your bid. Presented by Kathleen Agostino - Mascaro Construction Company, LP. Uncle Sam Wants You: Selling to the Federal Government - 3:00 to 4:00 PM The federal government is the world's largest purchaser of goods and services. This overview workshop includes what & how the Government buys, getting registered, and special certifications. Presented by Kevin White, U.S. Small Business Administration. Be a Solicitation Winner! Top 10 Mistakes of Proposal Preparation - 3:00 to 4:00 PM What is the Agency looking for? How can you put together a good offer & make sure it will be considered "responsive"? Do you really need to dot all those I's & cross all those T's? The workshop covers the top mistakes made by small businesses when preparing & submitting their offer to the Government. Presented by Sherrie Plonski, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
