- Description
- This is a request for information for healthcare simulation software. USU has a requirement for healthcare simulation software for use in multiple courses in the Health Services Administration Division. The primary objective is to provide students with hands-on training to experience the results and trade-offs of making administrative decisions within a healthcare system. The simulation will be customized to focus on important learning objectives, incorporate realistic operational and financial data, involve important business environment issues and challenges, and provide financial statements and key performance indicators. Areas of interest include: • Effects of implementing an electronic health record system • Process improvement in Emergency Room flow • Strategic human resource decision-making, to include salary vs. credentialing models, provider mix decisions and support staff ratios • Financial analysis focused on ratios and ratio analysis resulting from operations over a 2-3 year period • System-wide strategic decision-making that demonstrates effects of implementing Affordable Care Act provisions (Accountable Care Organizations, bundled payments and fluctuations of public exchange and Medicaid participants), as well as the effects of changes in more traditional risk and capital agreements. This can be either web-based or use software for Windows-based computers. Training will be required for three faculty members. Simulations should be flexible and should vary in the amount time required to complete (roughly 2 hours to 6 hours). If you are interested in this requirement, please answer the following questions: 1. Are the specifications listed above clear? 2. Are you able to quote a healthcare simulation program that will meet the specifications identified above? If not, what specifications could you not meet? 3. Is this existing or customized software? If the product is commercially available, what is the brand name and model of the healthcare software you would quote? 4. Are there any annual license, subscription fees, or additional costs associated with the software? 5. What type of warranty is provided (duration)? 6. Are you able to provide firm-fixed pricing for future maintenance periods (option years)? 7. If yes, how many option years are you able to quote firm-fixed pricing for? Please provide the following with your submission: 1. Company name and address 2. DUNS Number 3. Socio-Economic Status (Small, SDVOSB, etc.) - Socio-economic status will be verified in SAM.gov 4. Point of Contact (Name, Email and Phone Number) All responses are due by June 3, 2014.
