- RECOVERY ACT FUNDS: Virtulization Certified Professional - Subject Matter Expert Firm-Fixed Priced award was competitive. Background: The Social Security Administration (SSA), Office of Telecommunications and Systems Operations will be moving the current NCC (National computer Center) datacenter to the new NSC (National Support Center) datacenter. As part of this effort to support datacenter consolidation and Agency goals to migrate Unix Solaris to Open Systems Red Hat Linux in a virtualized environment, this migration is mandated by congress to take place in 2015. To support this effort, several of SSA's existing virtualization infrastructures much physically be moved from the old to the new datacenter. These infrastructures are imperative to the function of the Agency's workload. The platforms that are to be migrated are VMware ESX environments with supporting software applications. Current Requirement: SSA is seeking contracted services to perform 2 specific tasks: Task 1: VMWare Services for Windows Environments Task 2: VMWare Services for Linux Environment The statement of work details the requirements of this firm-fixed-price order during the period of performance, which is estimated to start on May 23, 2014 through May 22, 2015.
