- AMENDMENT 004 ANSWERS TO RFI'S RESULTING FROM THE PRE CON SITE VISIT The information contained in this amendment shall become part of this solicitation and any resulting contract. PROJECT MANUAL 1.Section 12 24 13 - Roller Window Shades: a.Add the following paragraph 1.9: 1.9 WARRANTY A. Roller Shade Hardware and Shadecloth: Manufacturer's standard non-depreciating twenty five year limited warranty. B. Roller Shade Motors and Motor Control System: Manufacturer's standard non-depreciating five year warranty. C. Roller Shade Installation: One year from date of Substantial Completion or as required by other project warranties whichever is the longer duration. b.Add sub-paragraph c. to paragraphs 2.2.E.2, 2.3.E.2, and 2.3.F.2 as follows: c. Sewn hems and open hem pockets are not acceptable c.Delete paragraph 2.2.F.2 d.Delete paragraph 2.3.G.2 e.Revise paragraph 2.4.B.2 to read as follows: 2. Type: EcoVeil by MecoShade or equal; EcoVeil Naturals group, 8050 series, fabricated from TPO for both core yarn and jacket, single thickness, non-raveling, 0.762 mm thick fabric, 2x2 jacquard weave. f.Revise paragraph 2.4.B.4 openness factor to: 1-2 percent g.Revise paragraph 2.4.C.2 to read as follows: 2. Type: PVC free shadecloth with opaque acrylic backing, MecoSystems "Equinox 0100 series", 0.19 mm thick blackout material and weighing 0.94 pounds per square yard. h.Delete paragraph 2.5.C.2 titled "Skylight Shades" i.Add paragraph 2.5.D as follows: D. Shade Band and Shade Roller Attachment: a. Use extruded aluminum shade roller tube of a diameter and wall thickness required to support shade fabric without excessive deflection b. Provide for positive mechanical attachment of shade band to roller tube; shade band shall be made removable/replaceable with a "snap-on/snap-off" spline mounting without having to remove shade roller from shade brackets, c. Mounting Spline shall not require use of adhesives, tapes, staples and/or rivets. Any method of attaching shade band to roller tube with adhesives, tapes, staples and/or rivets is not acceptable. DRAWINGS: 2.Drawing AS-920: a.ROOM FINISH SCHEDULE: Change the base in room GA216-Glass Wash from P13 to P12. RESPONSE TO BIDDERS RFI's: 3.RFI 1: The specification lists both a Recessed Shade Pocket with extruded lip and a Closure panel and wall clip. Which is required? a.RESPONSE: The recessed shade pocket is required. See correction to this specification included in this addendum. 4.RFI 2: Single Motorized Shades: Spec just lists light filtering fabric BUT DOES NOT SPECIFY OPENNES FACTOR; 1, 3, 5 OR 10%. Note: The double motorized shade section states a light filtering openness at 1%. Is it the same for single? a.RESPONSE: The light filtering fabric and the light blocking fabric are specified in paragraph 2.4. See clarification of fabric specifications included in this addendum. 5.RFI 3: Double Shade: The spec just states Opaque for light blocking fabric. Can this fabric be vinyl or must it be pvc-free fabric? a.RESPONSE: The light filtering fabric and the light blocking fabric are specified in paragraph 2.4. See clarification of fabric specifications included in this addendum. 6.RFI 4: Are the fire extinguishers and AED's by the owner? Specification only covers cabinets (section 10 44 13). a.RESPONSE: Yes, the fire extinguishers and AED are to be supplied by the Owner. 7.RFI 5: There is a specification section for Resinous Flooring (RES-6) however there is no indication where this flooring is to be installed. Is this supposed to be P12? a.RESPONSE: Yes, the resinous flooring (specification section 09 67 23.60) is finish P12 as shown in the Room Finish Schedule and Finish Legend on drawing AS-920. See revision to the Room Finish Schedule included in this addendum. 8.RFI 6: Please advise if our understanding is correct. According to the table of contents in the specification and drawing GS-002, we are responsible to include in our pricing the laboratory fume hoods, biological safety cabinets, and the ceiling manifold system. The gas cabinets, manufactured metal casework, manufactured wood casework, manufactured flexible lab casework and countertops are to be furnished and installed by the owner. a.RESPONSE: Correct, however, the work of this contract includes work related to the items being supplied and installed by the Owner. Refer to the notes under "WORK BY OTHERS" on drawing GS-002. CLARIFICATION: ANY AND ALL DRAWINGS WHICH CONTAIN THE NOTATION "REPLACE WITH ¦.." ARE TO BE REPLACED WITH THE APPROPRIATE REVISED DRAWINGS AS STATED REVISED BID SHEET: REVISED BID SHEET WITH AMENDED LANGUAGE FOR "BID ALTERNATE 2" IS ATTACHED. THIS REVISED BID SHEET MUST BE INCLUDED WITH YOUR BID IN LIEU OF THE ORIGINAL BID SHEET POSTED WITH THE SOLICITATION. ONLY THE REVISED BID SHEET IS TO BE INCLUDED.
