- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineer District, New Orleans, has a requirement for Aquatic Plant Control in South Louisiana. The contractor shall provide all management, supervision, labor, airboats, skiffs, transportation, equipment, supplies, materials, and quality control necessary to apply liquid herbicidal materials to unwanted aquatic vegetation in any or all of 23 parishes (counties) in south Louisiana. The aquatic plant infestations vary from sparse patches of plants to very dense uniform mats. Approximately 95% of the work may involve the control of water hyacinths. The contractor shall perform simultaneous spray operations at multiple locations, involving the use of two-person spray crews in airboats and/or skiffs. Price proposal shall be provided for a base period and two (2) option periods. The solicitation will be issued on or about 19 May 2014. This solicitation is 100% set aside for SMALL BUSINESSES. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 488310. The solicitation documents for this procurement will be posted on Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI).
