- Questions and Answers : 1. I am on the GSA schedule is it possible to use my schedule if selected for this project? Answer: Yes. 2. Are you expecting the surveys to be conducted weekly or is it possible to set up a schedule over a few weeks? Answer: Over a few weeks is fine. Gift cards when purchased usually have a limited timespan for activation, so if surveys are scheduled over a few weeks, they should probably not all be purchased at once. 3. Has CDC obtained approval for surveys to be conducted on premise at the taxi waiting lots (i.e. especially at airports)? Often times there are restrictions which say no soliciting on premise. Answer: We are working with the regulator in Houston who has suggested and okayed this approach and supports the study. 4. What arrangements will be made for surveys being conducted at the airport? This will be a huge group if arrangements can be coordinated. Answer: I'm not sure what this question is asking. The drivers will already be there waiting for rides at a centralized location and several surveyors will go to this location and start surveying drivers. 5. Training - Will NIOSH bring staff to Houston for the classroom training or is this online training through a webinar? Will the training be conducted a few days before the survey process starts? Answer: Yes, we will travel to Houston for a half day of classroom training to discuss the survey. The ethics training is 3 hours and provided online. The training will likely be conducted a few days to a couple of weeks before the survey process starts. 6. Gift Card Purchase - Will NIOSH immediately (based upon standard government invoice procedures) process an invoice for the gift cards upon award of the project? Otherwise, the contractor is being requested to spend $12,500 and wait until the surveys are completed for reimbursement. This may pose an unrealistic hardship to small business owners to advance this amount of funds and wait until completion for reimbursement. Answer: No, the vendor cannot invoice until the project is completed. 7. Identification - What type of identification will be provided for surveyors? Answer: They are not CDC employees so cannot have badges. It is up to the company to find, interview and select surveyors and provide them with badges. In the past they have worn a "uniform" of khaki pants and white button down shirt with collar.
