Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) intends to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) to acquire services to identify and aggregate sources of news information, blogs and social media about infectious diseases, biosurveillance and other topics of relevance to the Office of Public Health. All this information will be collected and presented in one dashboard format where subject matter experts can "curate" the articles that are a 'must read' for others to see, as well as add their own comments about the article. These curated articles can also be consolidated and sent out as a daily or weekly newsletter to a list of recipients. All the metadata for the articles are searchable, saved in a database and stored in a big-data paradigm for analytic purposes. The Contractor shall furnish all personnel, supervision, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, and resources necessary to provide data collection services as it pertains to the above information. The NAICS code is 541512, size standard is $25.5 million. This acquisition is a 100% Small Business set-aside. The contract will be firmed fixed price. The period of performance is estimated to be less than four (4) months. The solicitation number for this RFQ is VA261-14-Q-0454. The solicitation will be issued on or about May12, 2014 with an anticipated proposal due date of May 23, 2014. All questions must be in writing and may be e-mailed to phyllis.charles@va.gov. Offeror is responsible for downloading all documents including amendments at the website listed above, without further notification from the VA Contracting Officer. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov.
