The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding: (1) the availability and capability of qualified small business sources; (2) whether sources are small businesses; HUBZone small businesses; service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses; 8(a) small businesses; veteran-owned small businesses; woman-owned small businesses; or small disadvantaged businesses; and (3) sources' size classification relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for the proposed acquisition. A.Background The Motorized Ultra Precise Small Animal Stereotaxic Instrument and Accessories is required for positioning mice for surgical procedures including stereotaxic brain injection, spinal cord injection, and craniotomies. The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), is anticipating award of a Firm-Fixed Price non-competitive purchase order to the David Kopf Instruments in Tujunga, California to provide a Motorized Ultra Precise Small Animal Stereotaxic Instrument with accessories as described below in Section B. While there are several vendors for stereotaxic equipment, only Kopf Instruments has all the parts and customizability to meet our uses and still offers repairs/reconditioning/calibration for all of their products.
