Description
The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Rock Island (ACC-RI), on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager for Combat Ammunition Systems plans on awarding a 5 year requirements contract for Load Assemble Pack (LAP) of the following items: Nomenclature - NSN 155MM M107 Projectile- 1320-01-460-5087 60MM M888 Mortar Cartridge- 1310-01-149-3185 155MM M795 Projectile IMX 101- 1320-01-617-2682 155MM M795 Projectile TNT- 1320-01-495-3842 75MM M337A2 Blank Cartridge- 1315-01-307-3944 105MM M395A2 Blank Cartridge- 1315-00-028-5036 105MM M1 Cartridge IMX 101- 1315-01-599-9445 105MM M1 Cartridge TNT- 1315-01-570-3111 Army Contracting Command-Rock Island anticipates issuing a sole source solicitation for the above LAP requirements to American Ordnance (AO). These requirements are restricted to the National Technology and Industrial Based (United States and Canada) and further restricted to American Ordnance (AO), as the operator of the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant (IAAAP) under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), FAR 6.302-1(2), Only One Responsible Source. The 155mm, M107 is a high explosive artillery projectile used for anti-personnel and anti-material targets. The projectile is a hollow steel forged shell filled with either TNT or Composition B melt-poured explosive, and contains a pressed TNT supplementary charge. The projectiles are packed eight per wooden pallet The 60mm, M888 Mortar Cartridge is a high-explosive mortar projectile that is used with the M224/A1 60mm Mortar System. This cartridge is used against personnel bunker, and light material targets. The mortar cartridge body is a hollow, 1340-steel forged shell filled with Composition B/IM version melt-poured explosive. The mortars are packaged eight per PA70 metal ammunition container, with two PA70 metal containers per wooden box, and twenty-seven wooden boxes per pallet. The 155mm, M795 projectile is an extended-range high-explosive artillery projectile used for anti-personnel and anti-material targets. The projectile is a hollow high-fragmentation steel forged shell filled with either TNT or IMX-101 melt-poured explosive. A TNT supplementary charge is used in the TNT-filled projectile and a PBXN-9/IM supplementary charge is used in the IMX-101 version. The 75mm, blank M337A2 is uses for artillery saluting and simulation fire. The cartridge consists of an aluminum cartridge case containing loosely-packed black power and press-fitted M1B1A2 primer. The cartridge is packed one per artillery fiber tube with fifteen artillery fiber tubes per wooden box. The 75mm, Blank M395 is used for artillery saluting and simulation fire. The cartridge consists of an aluminmum cartridge case containing loosely-packed black powder and a press-fitted M1B1A2 primer. The cartridge is packed one per artillery fiber tube with ten artillery fiber tubes per wooden box. The 105mm, M1 is a high explosive artillery cartridge used for anti-personnel and anti-material targets. The cartridge consists of a hollow steel forged projectile filled with TNT, or IMX-101 explosive, and M14 cartridge case. M22B2 primer and an M67 propelling charge. A TNT supplementary is used in the TNT and Comp F-filled versions of the projectile and a PBXN-9 supplementary charge is used in the IMX-101 version, The cartridges are packed in the PA55 artillery fiber tubes with on outer pack of either a wooden box, which holds two artillery fiber tubes, or a PA117 metal container, which holds one fiber tube. The anticipated firm fixed price LAP requirements contract will contain separate prices for the 60mm M888 mortars, 105mm M1 artillery, 155mm M795 and M107 artillery, 75mm blank and 105mm blank cartridges. Deliveries are anticipated to begin in March 2017. The estimated total/maximum quantities for the entire contract period are as follows: 155MM M107 Projectile - 250,000 units 60MM M888 Cartridge - 160,000 units 155MM M795 Projectile - 334,896 units 75MM M337A2 Blank Cartridge - 104,589 units 105MM M395A2 Blank Cartridge - 134,981 units 105MM M1 Cartridge - 50,000 units First Article Testing (FAT) will be required for each items.
